Two of A Kind
My stomach clenched in excitement as the plane touched down in Gainesville and I was soon stepping out of the tiny airport and embracing my best friend Ricki. Sometimes I forget what real colleges are like, the sprawling campus and the sense of community and the roaring crowd of a full football stadium, everyone dressed in their complementary orange and blue. NYU, in all actuality, is just not a "real" college experience in any way, shape, or form, so I've come to love visiting friends at state schools. This past weekend, I tailgated with southern fraternity men who said "y'all" as if their lives depended on it. I cheered on the Gators against South Carolina. I partied it up at huge messy frat houses and I spent some time meeting my ZTA sorority sisters at UF and hanging out with old friends. Ricki and I have been friends since we were young and this year she was initiated into the University of Florida's Zeta Tau Alpha chapter, making her not only my friend, but also officially my sister. We're a real true two of a kind. I had such a great weekend, thanks to my awesome friends, and always: Go Gators!
(We both wore Lilly Pulitzer dresses; Ricki wore Nine West nude heels and I wore gold heels from Lulu's that are way too big on me if you didn't notice woops.)
