Coachella 2014
Coachella: (noun) A music and arts festival held annually; a valley in Riverside County, CA; one of the best weekends of my life, full of amazing music, art, food, and great experiences.
Day 1:
We arrived at Coachella and began exploring the vast area and multiple stages, enjoying some of the arts pieces including huge mirrored cubes that were clearly a popular spot for selfies. ("Let's go watch MS MR, but first… Lemme take a selfie!") Yes, we did then go see MS MR, then saw Aloe Blacc, HAIM, Bastille, Ellie Goulding, Chromeo, Flume, and OutKast, interspersed with eating at the delicious vendors, including some vegetarian tamales and homemade ice cream sandwiches. Yum. Day 1 was a great start to the weekend, even with the slight rain and clouds. (I wore a white lace dress from Hollister, a plaid flannel from Urban Outfitters around my waist, a black hat from Nasty Gal, and combat boots from Target.)
Day 2:
Yay, another day! Today was sweltering hot and sunny with few clouds in the sky, all I can say is I'm glad for the shade. Started the day at a Coachella photo booth, bought a Coachella tank top, then headed to see Bombay Bicycle Club, City and Colour, Kid Cudi, Capital Cities (my favorite act of the weekend), Foster the People, and attempted to see Empire of the Sun but the crowd was so brutal we couldn't even make it to the covered area of the stage. Headed back to the hotel kind of early, exhausted. (I wore a white lace crop top, light wash high waist shorts, brown leather fringe vest, brown strappy sandals all from Urban Outfitters, and a pink flower crown from Francesca's.)
Day 3:
And I thought Day 2 was hot, today was even worse. Chance the Rapper was cancelled for some unknown reason, so we hopped from shady spot to air-conditioned tent until the 1975 started. We then saw The Naked and Famous, then wandered around eating and relaxing until Calvin Harris, skipped out early to see Lana Del Rey (amazing to see the queen herself and so jealous of the people in the front row that she took selfies with), then had a front spot in the crowd watching Disclosure. We had to leave early though, head back to the hotel to gather our stuff, and meet the driver to the airport. No sleep and suddenly I was on a plane home, the weekend seeming like a dream. It was absolutely amazing and I wanted it to go on forever. Bye Coachella 2014, it was perfect. (I wore an off-white chiffon top from Zara, navy chiffon skirt from American Apparel, combat boots from Target, and a pink flower headband from Francesca's,)
