The Beauty Of: Homemade Face Scrubs
I have always struggled with my skin, but one thing I hate is constantly slathering my face with unnatural chemicals that dry it out and make it worse off than before. Therefore I love making my own face scrubs for whatever problem I'm having. Here's a few great recipes to try!
Sweet Thing: Yogurt, Honey, and Brown Sugar
- 2 tbsp yogurt
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
Explanation: The lactic acid in yogurt helps smooth and exfoliate skin and yogurt contains anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties to help soothe acne. Honey is naturally antibacterial to fight acne, full of antioxidants which slow down aging, and very soothing. Brown sugar also contains antibacterial properties and is a great exfoliator.
Just Nutty: Almond, Honey, Oats, and Lemon
- 1 tbsp almond meal or finely ground almonds
- 2 tbsp oats
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Explanation: Ground almonds help to gently exfoliate. Oats not only exfoliate, they soothe and heal acne, sunburns, and dry skin. Honey has antibacterial and healing properties and is very hydrating. Lemon juice is great for acne-prone skin and is rich in vitamin C and alpha hydroxy acids.
Salty Air: Sea Salt and Coconut Oil
