Grass Roots

At last, on my final day in the sunshine state, I saw the sun. After some light rain in the morning the clouds parted and it turned into a beautiful day. I reveled in the sunlight with my best friend Ricki -- we went to the park for awhile, got some delicious lunch and coffee, then drove the long back roads to her house. It's crazy to think that she and I have known each other since 4th grade when we decided that because we both love horses we should obviously be friends. Somehow that logic worked out and here we are 10 years later. I'll miss her and Florida and home and my dog, Lucky, but now I'm off to Portland for a few days, then it's back to the big city to move in! Life is moving along quickly, as it does, despite the languid Florida mentality when I'm at home.
