Carpe Diem
I left Thursday to visit my friend Rory in Marblehead, Massachusetts, north of Boston. Despite some weather-related setbacks we had a wonderful weekend! Marblehead is a lovely little harbor town about an hour north of Boston, a classic New England town from it's Revolutionary history to its clapboard houses and wood-panelled station wagons, to the purple and green hydrangeas and the thousands of boats moored in the harbor. We did dinners at the Eastern Yacht Club, where she has been a member since she was young, and we spent afternoons by the pool and on her boat. When it was gloomy, we went into Salem to get our fortunes read by a witch, which was actually very interesting, if not freaky how accurate she was on some things. It was the perfect weekend to end the summer! Now onward to junior year...
