Chateau Chic
One of our excursions from Geneva included a lovely visit to the Château de la Chaize winery. We wanted to visit a winery that produced Beaujolais but hadn't made any plans, so on our second night to dinner in Geneva when we ordered a bottle and loved it, my mom emailed the winery and set up a visit. That's the fun thing about Europe -- we went from trying this wine at a restaurant to realizing the winery was less than two hours away to being shown around by the owner herself. She was so helpful and friendly and after she showed us around the wine cellar and we tasted some of the wines, we got to roam around the gorgeous gardens around the house. The house, or rather the mansion of a chateau, was actually a private family home. What a gorgeous place to grow up, huh?
