Tis the Season to Be Preppy

It's been the weirdest winter so far in that it's been so warm -- it's supposed to get up to the mid-60s next week! It's more of a Florida winter than an up north, New York City winter. I'm not complaining though because I am so not a fan of the snow and the cold. I hate being bundled and frozen as the wind whips your face and your eyes tear up and you slip on patches of black ice and have to wear thermal tights underneath every pair of pants and have to wear big clunky hats and scarves and gloves and coats.... I'm probably jinxing it by even writing about the weather.... Oh well. The semester is winding down and I'll soon be relaxing in Florida and I will never again be crazy enough to take on this much stuff again (I say until next semester). Even through all the busy, I managed to make some wonderful new friends with Carter Fish and Kate Mcreynolds. We had so much fun goofing off and wandering the city taking pictures and eating great food and rambling on about ours lives to each other. I have to say, this is probably the greatest benefit of social media: I get to meet so many great people that I may not have otherwise and keep in touch with them even when they live halfway across the country. NYC may be a great base for art and fashion, but most of the people here are from elsewhere, from miles away, and bring incredible experiences and perspectives with them. This city is as diverse as any. I don't even know what I writing about right now, but don't judge me -- finals is getting to my head.

(I wore a red turtleneck knit sweater from JCrew, a blue and red plaid skirt from JCrew, black opaque tights from White House Black Market, white pointed toe heels from Aldo Shoes, a long layered pearl necklace from Ann Taylor, Alex + Ani bracelets, and a blue Salvatore Ferragamo handbag.)

Thanks Carter for the photos! Check out: Carter Fish Photography
