Isles of Exploration
We spent three days in Lake Maggiore in the town Stresa across from the Borromees Isles, three small islands in the middle of the lake. It was a beautiful region and we luckily had mostly good weather the entire time (the forecast had initially said otherwise). We took a ferry boat to the islands Isola Bella, Isola Madre, and Isola Pescatori, in order to explore the palaces and gardens of the first two and the restaurants of the third. The next day we drove over a mountain in order to reach another smaller lake, Lake Orta, where we spent some time in the medieval town Orta and took a ferry to the convent on San Giulio Island in the middle of the lake. It was a nicely laid back few days.
(I wore a pink striped Rebecca Minkoff dress, white Aldo sandals, small silver key necklace, crystal Anthropologie earrings, and carried my new favorite light blue scalloped cross-body purse from Asos.)
