Miami Vibes
Following our time in Palm Beach, we checked out and headed the hour or so drive down to Miami (blasting the Miami Latino radio stations the whole way of course). Miami is entirely its own place, not similar to anywhere else in Florida or in the U.S. for that matter. It is its own climate zone, hotter and stickier than anywhere else, and it feels more like another a visit to another country than a quick drive. I've spent a good amount of time in Miami, actually moreso since I've been in college, so each time I return I prefer to spend minimal time around South Beach, opting rather for Coral Gables or Wynwood to get a better vibe than the packs of tourists lining Collins Ave and its periphery. This time we did stay on South Beach, though, if only for the good hotel deal I was able to find, and we spent our first morning pool hopping from the Kimpton Surfcomber, to the SLS, to the Delano, and so on, stopping for a great lunch under the fans at the trendy Delano. We then spent a blissful afternoon on the beach before I, unfortunately, got a really severe migraine and wound up in bed by 7pm. Not quite the wild party scene Miami is known for but definitely a good day regardless.
